“Genie in a Bottle”

LIFE:   Did you ever wonder as a kid what it would be like to have a genie in the bottle?

ENGAGE THE MESSAGE:

1. Read Psalm 27:1-6.
2. What do we know about David? How does what we know about him help our understanding of these verses?
3. What’s the one thing you would ask God for?
4. Pastor Ron discussed the fact that you cannot ask God for anything without drawing close to Him.  What are some of the ways we can draw close to God?
5. How do you typically move through tough things in your life? Have you used the “O.W.N. it” strategy (Observe, Welcome, Name)?  If so, how did that go?  If not, can you see the value in it?
6. How can you make it a point to daily seek to be in the presence of God?
7. What is your one thought from the Psalm today?

MAKE DISCIPLES:   Memorize and use the “O.W.N. it” strategy. Then share it with others who are struggling. Invite others into reading through the Psalms along with you!
