DISCUSSION GUIDE: October 5 – Ron Aulbach

“Idol Factory”

LIFE:  What do you get excited about this time of year?

ENGAGE THE MESSAGE:

  1. Read Ezekiel 14:1-3, Proverbs 4:23
  2. What is the definition of an idol?
  3. What are some of the historical idols?  What do they look like in the United States today?
  4. Can we ever “graduate” from the temptation of idolatry?  How do we “guard our hearts” as in Proverbs 4:23?
  5. What does godly sorrow look like compared with worldly despair?
  6. What idols have you let your heart make?
  7. How have you noticed these idols impacting the posture of your heart?

MAKE DISCIPLES:  Anyone can benefit from a peer-to-peer conversation to work through idols and apply biblical truths.  At BCC, we have a team called Soul Care that would love to meet with you one-on-one.  Who will you chat with about idols this week?
