“Redemption: From Empty to Full”
LIFE: What amazing sports records have you witnessed as they happened?
ENGAGE THE MESSAGE:
- Read Ruth 4:1-6, 16-17, 18-22.
- Boaz wants to marry Ruth but the next of kin had the right to redeem first. How was Boaz shrewd and what did he risk when he suggested the guardian-redeemer purchase Naomi’s land?
- In what way was the guardian-redeemer unwilling to pay the price of redemption? What were his “sins of omission”?
- Men are called to be the spiritual leaders of the home. What is the cost of this for men? How is it biblically different from the world view of “toxic masculinity”?
- How does God fill up what sin, suffering and loss have emptied? How is this different from pretending that our pain never existed?
- What is the significance of the genealogy at the end of the book of Ruth?
- What price was paid for God to redeem you?
