DISCUSSION GUIDE: May 3 – Dr. Ron Aulbach

“Why Karma When You Can Have Grace?”

LIFE:  What do you think of the air fryer or air fried food?

ENGAGE THE MESSAGE:

  1. Read Ephesians 2:8
  2. How does grace set Christianity apart?
  3. What is wrong with the idea that morality will save us?
  4. Why does detachment from suffering fail us?
  5. In Buddhism, people are called to strive for nirvana and simply let go of pain and suffering. As Christ-followers, how can we take our pain and bring it to Jesus?
  6. What is the difference between grace and karma?
  7. “Good vibes” comes from eastern religions. Though our intent may not be as deep as that when using that phrase. What could we exchange the phrase good vibes for?
  8. Have you had interactions with people from any of the Eastern religions? How so?
  9. What does it look like to surrender to God, and be filled with the Holy Spirit?
  10. What does it mean to you that God knows you and loves you completely?

MAKE DISCIPLES:   What can you do this week to prepare for conversations with others about Jesus?
