“Seeing the Bigger Picture”
LIFE: What dreams for the future do you have?
ENGAGE THE MESSAGE:
- Read Genesis 37:2-10, 17-24.
- In verses 2-10 what issues do you see between Joseph and his brothers? Why are there issues and who is to blame?
- Dreams are real, but the route might be rough to get there. How have you experienced this in the past?
- After reading verses 17-24, put yourself in Joseph’s shoes. How might you feel? What things might you be wrestling with?
- How do we keep from “judging the story by the chapter we’re in” when times are tough?
- How have you seen God provide for you or others? What benefit is there to reflecting on how God has provided in the past?
- What does it look like to be listening to God daily or weekly in pursuing this dream you have?
MAKE DISCIPLES: How can you encourage someone who might not see the bigger picture?
