SERIES HELPS:

This series we will engage with different movies and the truth that they point to. This next month take a look at baptism. Have you been baptized? Is someone you know curious about it?

DISCUSSION GUIDE: July 28 – Ron Aulbach

“What To Do When You’re Having a Bad Day”

LIFE: What is the most recent movie you’ve seen?  Did it have a truth message?

ENGAGE THE MESSAGE:

  1. Read Acts 16:25-26, 1 Timothy 6:17, John 7:38
  2. How is all truth God’s truth?
  3. What are you hoping for?
  4. On bad days does your level of hope fall to the floor or stay above you to/through the ceiling?
  5. When things are bad what do you typically do? How do you keep hope alive when it’s not a good day?
  6. Describe a time when you or someone you know invited God into their bad day. Did it positively affect others who were around?
  7. What is baptism about? (Read Matthew 28:19-20.)
  8. How does following Jesus give hope?  Invite the LORD into your bad day with honest prayer and watch your hope rise.

MAKE DISCIPLES: Have you stepped into the baptism waters? If not, consider doing so at Bridgeway on Sunday, September 8th. If you have already been baptized, then plan on attending the service to show love and support for those who are stepping into the waters. It is also an excellent opportunity to invite someone you know to witness the baptisms and bring hope.
