“Named”

LIFE: What nicknames have you held throughout your life? 

ENGAGE THE MESSAGE:

1. Read Ephesians 1:1-14.
2. Pastor Mike said it is easier to learn a new name than to unlearn a wrong name.  What names has the world called you? 
3. What are some of the names God calls you now “in Christ”?
4. What do you believe it means to be blameless in Christ?  How has God blessed you with His forgiveness?
5. One of the names we are given is “redeemed”.  How has God redeemed you from the names and labels the world put on you?
6. What is the significance of being “adopted?”
7. Being defined by God is a beautiful blessing. Is it a challenge or a habit for you to run to the Father and rest in Him despite the names the world tries to give you?
8. What blessing from God means the most to you? What blessing do you feel has not quite sank into your mind yet even though God tells us it is true in his word?

MAKE DISCIPLES: Who do you know that has a habit of defining him/herself by world labels?  How can you help redefine names for others “in Christ”?
